Private Handgun Training For All Levels: Handgun Fundamentals (HF)
Practical Concealed Carry
This class focuses on skills that most concealed carry permit classes don’t cover—how to draw, present and operate a handgun safely and effectively from concealment. Participants will practice drawing from common positions, explore wardrobe and equipment options, and review critical legal and use-of-force considerations. Training includes progressive handgun skills and realistic drills to build confidence in safe, controlled, and lawful firearm handling. Ideal for civilians and plainclothes professionals who carry regularly and want to strengthen responsible carry practices.
Defensive Handgun 1- Presentations, Operations and Continuity of Fire (DH-1)
Defensive Handgun 1 is an introductory course for new 540 students, focusing on foundational defensive handgun skills. It covers safe handling, storage, loading, unloading, shooting fundamentals, holster techniques, and grip and stance options. The course also includes detailed training on resolving common malfunctions.
Defensive Handgun 2 – Protective Engagements (DH-2)
Defensive Handgun 2 advances defensive handgun skills through rigorous drills, scenario-based training, and decision-making exercises. Building on Defensive Handgun 1, it focuses on dynamic shooting, strategic movement, carry positions, and barricade tactics. The course prepares participants to handle complex defensive scenarios confidently and effectively.
Defensive Handgun 3 – Complex Engagements (DH-3)
Defensive Handgun 3 is an advanced course for graduates of Defensive Handgun 2, ideal for CHL holders, armed security, and LEOs. It focuses on tactical decision-making, advanced firearm manipulation, and responding to high-risk, real-world scenarios. The course emphasizes practical approaches to shooting, managing liabilities, and handling stress in sudden, violent attacks.
Tactical Handgun Optics Course (THOC-1)
THOC -1 is an intensive training program focused on mastering defensive handgun skills with an emphasis on handgun optics. The course covers everything from selecting and maintaining optics to precise zeroing techniques, enabling participants to improve their speed, distance judgment, and accuracy in high-pressure situations. It also includes specialized training in one-handed and bilateral operations, rapid dot acquisition, and managing optic malfunctions. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned professional, this curriculum equips you with the practical skills needed for effective real-world defensive engagements.

Defensive Handgun Low Light (DHLL)
Defensive Handgun – Low Light is a focused training class that builds real-world capability with handheld and weapon-mounted lights. Students learn practical techniques for using light to identify threats, control what is visible to others, and make accurate shots in reduced-light conditions. We emphasize safe weapon handling, deliberate light application, and clear decision-making regarding target identification.
This class is well-suited for responsible gun owners with previous training, and armed security who want to develop solid, repeatable skills for low light environments. Prior low-light experience isn’t required.
Law Enforcement-HR 218 (LE-218)
This Practical Qualification Course covers all of the elements required by the State of Oregon Department of Public Safety and Standards as well as the Law Enforcement Safety Act of 2004 (HR218) to obtain your certification for a HR 218 permit. This course is 1 hour.
